Senior DevOps / SRE

We are looking for a Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer to join our team.

We’re seeking a Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer with a passion for building scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration platforms. You will work closely with development teams to ensure our systems are resilient and built for growth.

Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure: Design, maintain and migrate Google Cloud and AWS environments using best practices around cost optimization, security, and high availability.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure with Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible, ensuring infrastructure is versioned, tested, and repeatable.

• Container Orchestration: Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters (GKE); develop and maintain Helm charts for application packaging and deployment.

• Service Mesh: Configure and operate Istio for traffic management, security, and observability within Kubernetes environments.

• Containerization: Create and maintain Docker images; manage container lifecycle using Docker Compose and other container tools.

• CI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines (preferably using GitLab CI); automate test and release processes.

• Monitoring & Alerting: Leverage tools like Prometheus, Victoria metrics, Grafana, or similar to ensure proactive identification of performance or availability issues (Kubernetes cluster and infrastructure monitoring).

• Collaboration: Work with software engineering teams to optimize deployment and release processes, and continuously improve reliability and observability.

Requirements:

• DevOps / SRE Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role.

• Multi-Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• IaC Proficiency: Solid track record of using Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible to manage and automate infrastructure.

• Kubernetes & Helm: Deep understanding of Kubernetes and experience creating and maintaining Helm charts for deployments.

• Service Mesh (Istio): Practical experience deploying and managing Istio in production environments.

• PostgreSQL: Experience deploying, managing, and tuning PostgreSQL databases.

• Containerization: Advanced knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose for building and managing containerized applications.

• CI/CD Systems: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI.

• Linux & Networking: Strong foundation in Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and security best practices.

Nice to have:

• Agile / Scrum: Familiarity with agile methodologies and working within Scrum teams.

• Advanced Istio Knowledge: Deeper exposure to service mesh approaches and advanced Istio features.

• Scripting: Skills in Python, Go, or Node.js for automation, tooling, or small services.

• HashiCorp Vault: Hands-on experience managing secrets, tokens, and PKI using Vault.

• Monitoring Tools: Additional experience with observability tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Datadog, Splunk, etc.) and best practices for large-scale systems.
