Backend Team Lead

At Prequel, we use several programming languages—Go, Python, and Kotlin. Our backend team consists of 5 developers, and we're looking for a lead who will take an active role in:

• Product strategy planning,

• Breaking down business requirements into technical tasks,

• Estimating resource and financial costs for development,

• Overseeing execution.

Responsibilities

• Team Management: Leading a cross-functional team of Go, Python, and Kotlin developers.

• Team Development: Mentoring, coaching, and creating individual development plans for team members.

• Technical Leadership: Selecting and approving the tech stack for new products and services, as well as updating the current stack.

• Architecture & Design: Technical ownership of projects, active participation in system design alignment and key architectural decision-making.

• Planning & Execution: Active involvement in product strategy planning, decomposing business requirements into technical tasks, estimating resource and financial costs for development, and overseeing implementation.

Requirements

• Leadership: Hands-on experience as a Team Lead in a development team.

• Full-Cycle Management: Experience leading a team covering all stages of production—from requirements gathering, analytics, and system design to development, testing, deployment to production, and lifecycle maintenance.

• Processes & Methodologies: Knowledge and application of modern engineering practices.

• Team Development: Ability to motivate the team and establish processes for professional and career growth.

• Development Experience: Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Kotlin, Python, or Golang.

• Microservice Architecture: Deep understanding and hands-on experience in designing and building solutions using patterns such as Outbox, CQRS, Adapter, Proxy, Composer.

• Communication & Message Brokers: Experience working with gRPC and Apache Kafka.

• Infrastructure & DevOps: Practical skills in CI/CD, Kubernetes (k8s), GitLab, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
